Malankara Orthodox Church Delegation Visits Armenian Diocese in Russia

A delegation from the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church paid an official visit to the Armenian Diocese of New Nakhichevan and Russia as part of a fraternal exchange aimed at strengthening inter-Orthodox relations.

The delegation, led by Metropolitan Zacharias Aprem of the Adoor–Kadampanad Diocese, was warmly received by Archbishop Yezras Nersissian, Primate of the Armenian Diocese. Discussions focused on the historic ties and shared apostolic heritage of the Armenian and Malankara Orthodox Churches, as well as possibilities for future cooperation in areas of theological education and cultural engagement.

During their visit, the delegation also toured the Holy Transfiguration Mother Cathedral in Moscow, one of the most prominent centers of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Russia. The visit provided an opportunity to experience the rich liturgical and architectural traditions of the Armenian Church and to witness its vibrant presence among the faithful in Russia.

The meeting reflected the spirit of unity and mutual respect between the two ancient Oriental Orthodox Churches, reaffirming their shared commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation within the global Orthodox communion.
